Come on England!
Just watched the final T20 match between England and India in the Cricket. Wow!, what a series for England. Finally, we’ve managed to show some good consistant form in the shorter version of the game with some really outstanding and clinical cricket. This victory is the latest in what is now a string of 6 consecutive T20 victories. This is great preparation in the build-up to next March’s World T20 over in India.
Dramatic Series Whitewash
The last match in the three game series was the most thrilling with England sealing a whitewash after the match went into a dramatic super over. Both sides had finished on 154, It was James Vince who helped England to 154-8 with a decent knock of 46. Pakistan’s stand out player was Shoaib Malik with a knock of 75 which saw Pakistan finish on 154-7.
In Pakistan’s extra over, Chris Jordan’s Yorkers meant that Pakistan were restricted to 3-1. England had only two from four balls but when it looked like Pakistan might edge it, Eoin Morgan made sure of the win with vital runs to secure the whitewash and a 3-0 series win.
Funnily enough, it has been our test form which has been less impressive in recent months coming into this match against Pakistan on the back of a 2-0 test defeat. Hopefully this exciting T20 form will continue leading through to next year’s major tournament and England can play the same exciting Cricket that we’re now beginning to get accustomed to. They must surely then be contenders in India.
